sakurashinmachi

Back in October I went to Sakurashinmachi, to help out a friend.

Well, this past Sunday, we went back to check out the Hasegawa Machiko museum.

Hasegawa Machiko is the author of "Sazaesan", a well known comic strip in Japan.

The museum turned out to be exhibits of Hasegawa Machiko's art collection more than exhibits of her works.

The theme of the exhibits change from time to time.

I don't know that we'll be back, but it was nice to check it out.

Lunch was at Restaurant Demi.

A tiny shop specializing in Western-style foods that has been in business for 40-something years.

The elderly couple running this place were so cute!

I ordered the Napolitan...950 yen (tax included)

Sometimes when I order Napolitan, the ketchup is cloyingly sweet, but this wasn't, I think they make their own sauce.

I enjoyed this version.

Satoshi had their katsu...1350 yen (tax included)

He said it was super tender.

We'll be back to try other items on their menu.

After lunch, we went down the street to Lien de Sazaesan.

We tried their Sazaesan-yaki filled with chocolate.

And their Namihei-yaki filled with sweet bean paste.

Piping hot, these were delicious...150 yen (tax included) each.

Since it was Setsubun, we also bought some ehomaki for dinner from Shintomizushi...590 yen (tax included) each.

Over the weekend the temps went up and it was nice to be out and about.
