yakiimo season

It's yakiimo (roasted sweet potato) season.

This variety was Benitenshi, which we tried earlier this year, was 198 yen (plus tax).

The flesh was super sweet with a natural sugar coating from the roasting.

What are you enjoying these days?

Green grapes from Costco! Must be some new variety because they are very crisp and sweet! I usually look for moondrop grapes. They look kinda weird because they're super long and found them at Costco, Wholefoods, Donki and Foodland. The Donki cashier said they usually come out around Halloween, LOL they do look spooky. Good ones are crisp and have a sweet/tart flavor.

The Missus is making me make tempura like 4 times a week!

I think roasting it with the skins on helps to release the natural sugars, Rowena:)

That is a LOT of tempura Kirk!

Take care you two!
