anri doughnut

While Hawaii has all these frozen yogurt places popping up, around these parts there are all these donut shops popping up.

Near the Sakurai station, Anri, a bakery I've written about here, has started a donut shop.

From 8 types of dough, french bread, yeast (sweet) , savory, yeast (light), cake (baked), healthy (okara (soy lees)), rice flour, cake (fried)--they make a variety of doughnuts.

I tried their sweet yeast--chocolate & french bread--kinako (soy bean powder)...105 yen each (about US$1.05 each).

Delicious and light. Actually tastes better than Mister Donut.

I'll definitely be back.

Anri Doughnut : UPDATE 12/2010 this shop has closed
Inside Sakurai Market, next to Hankyu Sakurai station
Open 11:00-19:00

Mmm, I love a good donut and how amazing to be spoilt with many good choices! I love the sound (and look) of the sweet yeast-chocolate, especially :)

The variety of doughs is interesting. Would probably put Love's donuts to shame?!

anything with chocolate usually catches my eye Jude ;)

I hope you get a chance to try this place too Jan :)

Haven't had Love's donuts in ages Rowena, used to love the chocolate covered ones :)

Take care everyone.

Although not sure I want to give up the frozen yogurt maybe we can swap a couple for a couple donut places. ;-) They both look delicious to me.
