berry tomatoes
I think these berry tomatoes were from Hokkaido.
They kind of looked like scotch bonnet peppers, so I made sure to re-read the sign at the market.
I'm glad we got to try these, they were super sweet.

I guess one year I'll have to brave the summer heat to try all the sweet tomatoes. :( I think that time I ate one in the watermelon salad, it was mid May so if I plan a trip later in May, I might find what I've been looking for. The keiki toms I've been buying from costco are very sweet for Hawaii, but not like that elusive one I've been looking for in Japan. LOL, good excuse to keep going to Japan! v

still got maybe a couple more weeks until my tomatoes ripen up, but when they do, I'll be rolling in them!
Those look delicious Kat! I love tomatoes......
I've heard about sweet, almost fruit-like tomatoes in Japan, but have yet to find them. Must be like V said I need to go in the summer.
can't wait to see your harvest Rowena!
They were really good Kirk!
Hope you get to try peaches in Japan too Jalna!
Take care everyone.
