daydream

The weather in Japan at the moment is still, in my opinion...miserable. Winds do blow, but very warm winds...blah!

This is great for laundry because it dries in like seconds...but bad for plants because it needs more water than usual.

At least if you are in the shade it is a little cooler, but not as cool as I would like.

Have a feeling that "Autumn" here will be somewhat delayed and shortened. Hopefully figs will start popping up in the market to cheer me up.

In the meantime, I have been gazing at my photos from Hawaii and praying for tradewinds.

Hope you have a nice week.

daydream

It's been awhile since we had a daydream.

Here's a daydream spotted in the early evening when we usually get a sprinkling...it is actually a double rainbow, click on the photo to see it up close.

Happy Wednesday!

daydream

When the wintry months come rolling around, I know I'll definitely be gazing at this photo.

How about you?

daydream

One thing living is Osaka is that the sky is never deep blue like this. (and I didn't touch up any of these photos)

Most times it is a faint/light blue or light gray (due to pollution) and people there call it a great day.

I know, I'm spoiled because I grew up with one of the most beautiful skies ever.

So I was lying down the other day, gazing up and out of the window and saw this and had to snap it, to preserve it for those winter months or feelings of homesickness.

And then I saw this sky after coming back from a great lunch with a friend and had to preserve it for future oohing and aahing as well (sigh).

How's your week going? Hope it is going well.

daydream

This daydream comes from Ewa Beach Park.

There is an excellent view of Diamond Head.

You can stand under an Autograph Tree a.k.a. Pitch Apple a.k.a. Clusia Rosea and see mejiro, a tiny green bird with whites around its eyes, seeking out nectar.

There is a pod on that tree that is wooden and looks like a flower.

Before the pod "blooms" there is a tiny "flower" pattern on it too.(cute, yeah?)

Gazing out at this ocean is way nicer than looking out at Osaka's, which is usually "black"...this daydream will be perfect to look back on in a couple of months!

daydream

For those days, when it is gloomy out with rain.

Maybe a chill in the air.

Or feeling a bit homesick.

Maybe you had a bad day.

Here is something to daydream with.

A photo of the Royal Hawaiian Hotel...

And something we rarely see in Japan, a rainbow taken from my parent's backyard (wish the neighbor's solar heater wasn't in the way...)

I'm bookmarking this post for those gloomy days...you should too.
