a terre

While on one of my walks, towards the end of 2012, I noticed this tiny sweet shop called A Terre.

Well, I finally went to check them out.

Since I was in the middle of my walk and wasn't going straight home, I bought a selection of their baked goods.

The madeleine and galette bretonne were both buttery. The galette nice and flaky.

The slices of their cake orange, cake figue and cake chocolat were nice too.

Bits of dried fruit here and there.

The cake chocolat also had bits of apricot and orange in it.

And their boules de neige (snowballs) were buttery with a nice amount of nuts.

I wouldn't mind trying their cakes, I'll be back.

How could you focus on the rest of your walk when you were carrying sweet treats around with you?! ;)

Japan is just loaded with these hidden places. I'm always amazed at how you stumble upon these places while out on a walk.

what always amazes me Rowena, is how they have shops/cafes/doctors offices in our residential areas, stuff we normally don't see in Hawaii.

Take care.

Man if we had shops like that in the chestnut forest! Would be so nice to stop in for a coffee and a slice of cake after walking the dogs.

Today it is 10°C....yesterday it was 1°C! Tomorrow is anybody's guess. Next week probably some snow again.

this week we're in the teens and then back down to the singles, Rowena. If you lived near us, we could definitely meet up at some cafes :)

Take care.
