teeny

The other day I harvested the last of my beets.

They were still teeny.

I have a feeling the soil I have in the pot is too hard.

After peeling them, yes I peeled them, we ate them raw, they tasted like carrots.

The greens I chopped up and wilted them in a non-stick fry pan and then added 1 tablespoon of basil olive oil dressing.

I guess I'll try planting some again in a month or two.

My experience with growing beets is hit or miss, and for sure it has a lot to do with the soil. Oh, and did you ever see Bourdain's Spain NR episode? the one with the grilled green onions and drinking wine from a porron? That show made me put green onions on my grow-list, and the romesco sauce that's served with it looks so ono-licious!

I'm gonna try softening up the soil, Rowena, and yup, I saw the episode, looked so ono!

Take care.
