Yoplait came out with a French yogurt called "oui" (means yes).

It is a thicker yogurt, so I'm not sure how it differs from the Greek type nor whether France or Greece actually have these types of yogurts...

I bought the coconut and blueberry flavored yogurts...

I loved the little messages on the back of the foil top.

The container is glass, so be careful when you buy them and I plan to bring these containers back with me to Japan.

I thought both were a little too sweet for me, so next time I'm home and if this is still on the market, I will try the plain.

When I was in Hawaii, I came across OCHO candy at Target.

OCHO stands for organic chocolate.

I debated between their coconut and peanut butter candies.

I got the coconut.

The chocolate bloomed a little because my luggage was in 90-something temps when it landed in Osaka.

Still, this is good. Lots of coconut and I like that they use organic ingredients.

I hope to try some of their other versions next time I'm back in Hawaii.

Got to try these Theo Chocolate Salted Almond Coconut Bites. Kind of like Mounds candy but palm free, soy free, fair trade and non-gmo.

a bit pricey at close to $3, but I like that they were packed with coconut and that they use a semi-dark chocolate.

I'm glad I got to try this.

mucho aloha

Tried this Mucho Aloha HPA Pale Ale recently.

Kinda fruity, easy to drink.

Bummed that it isn't really made in Hawaii though.

I had this with some goya champuru, fried gyoza and calamari.

Dunno that I would buy this one again but I'm glad I tried it.

We just opened it recently...Whoa?!

pop gourmet popcorn

I wrote about Pop! Gourmet popcorn previously here and here.

Since Valentine's is coming up, some stores brought in a new flavor, their infused chocolate caramel with sea salt.

Love this one!

The chocolate coating is infused with caramel (or is it the other way around?!) making it more like a toffee coating. And there is just the right of sea salt sprinkled on each piece.

Like I said when I posted this on Instagram..."I'm glad it was a single serving, after tasting a couple, I wasn't about to share"

I'm really glad I got to try this one.

stash (part 2)

This is the other part of my "stash" of chocolates that I brought back from Hawaii this past summer.

All sorts from Chuao.

My favorite was the Popcorn Pop...this one surprised me, I thought it would have popcorn in it but it had corn chips in it. Salty-sweet!

My second favorite was the Potato Chip...this one was packed with crunchy kettle chip bits. Another salty-sweet combo!

I've tried the Firecracker before, this one is still fun with the popping candy in it.

Ravishing Rocky Road would've been better had the marshmallows been softer, at least they weren't styrofoam-ish.

The ones that were most disappointing was the Maple bacon...(what bacon?!) little to none if you ask me and the Honeycomb (bits of caramelized honey).

Even with hits and misses, I'm glad I got to try these.

pop gourmet popcorn

I talked about POP Gourmet Popcorn awhile back when I tried their Rogue Blue Cheese popcorn...here.

Since then, I also tried their Cascade Mix...caramel and cheese...this one was so-so. Something didn't quite match, dunno if it was the caramel or the cheese.

On the other hand, their Almond Roca was fabulous! I loved the toffee coating and would get this one again!

Downer about their garlic parmesan...bitter bits of burnt garlic...blah!

I love to snack on popcorn, but these were hits and misses...

Most have been consumed....

The girl scout cookie Nestlès were...meh!

The MEGA M&M...they really were huge! (too bad the store I bought them at only had the plain version)

I enjoyed the Rockin' Nut Road Snickers...like Rocky Road ice cream with caramel in it...

The Birthday Cake M&Ms were way too sweet. And I love mint chocolates, so the M&M version was delicious.

And always a winner...Snickers Peanut Butter Squared.

Been enjoying Chobani Flips in the mornings...Almond Coco Loco (Coconut yogurt with dark chocolate & honey roasted salted almonds), Nutty for Nana (Banana yogurt with dark chocolate and honey roasted salted almonds)

Tropical Escape (Pineapple coconut yogurt with hazelnuts, toasted coconut and granola), Blueberry Power (Blueberry yogurt with chia, pumpkin & sunflower seeds and walnuts) and Peachy Pistachio (Peach yogurt with dark chocolate and pistachios).

All were delicious. It was my first time trying chia seeds, they reminded me of poppy seeds.

talenti's gelato

Been able to try some Talenti's gelato while I'm here...Mediterranean Mint, kinda funky tasting mint gelato, but loved how there were lots of dark chocolate shards were in there.

Coffee Chocolate Chip....rich coffee gelato with dark chocolate shards...yum!

Sicilian Pistachio...I think they should either chocolate coat or caramelize the pistachios, too soggy to just blend them in there. Oh, and they should peel the skins off of the nuts too...meh, I've tasted better.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup...teeny peanut butter cups in chocolate gelato, how can you go wrong?!

good neighbors' fine foods

I am not too sure how I found out about Big Spoon Roasters, but I was happy to find them being sold online by Good Neighbors' Fine Foods in Tokyo.

I bought the Chai Spice Nut Butter. They also sell June Taylors preserves, so I bought a jar of her Seville Orange Marmalade.

If you like Chai, you will enjoy this nut butter.

Nice balance of spices and just a tad sweet.

The marmalade is really dark and thick, and there is so much fruit in there...love it!

Both are made in the USA but I didn't think I could find them in Hawaii, so I am glad I was able to find them here.

Tried this popcorn made by Gary Poppins (love the name!)

Cheddar, Caramel & Kettle...too bad they didn't have too much kettle corn in there.

Still, I'm glad I got to try this...so good!

fat witch

I've known about Fat Witch for some time now. I just haven't been able to get to New York to check them out.

So I was thrilled that they were coming to me.

A local department store had a New York Fair and was selling all sorts of foods and goods, including these.

I tried their plain, walnut & breakfast brownies.

For the 3, I paid 1652 yen, they definitely were not cheap. I think the price on Fat Witch's website calculates me paying 2 or 3 times?!

Satoshi and I shared the plain one on our picnic, and we also shared the breakfast brownie the other morning.

I am glad I got to try these and especially liked the breakfast brownie, oatmeal walnut brownie on the top and a chocolate brownie on the bottom.

happy cup coffee company

I ran across this brand of coffee recently...Happy Cup Coffee Company.

They are from Portland Oregon and employ adults with disabilities ("People with Potential" as they say) to batch roast and package their coffees.

I loved the naming of the coffees..."Boom Boom Dark Roast" & "Morning Madness Espresso Roast"

We tried the Morning Madness coffee and enjoyed it.

We also tried Boom Boom and I like this one more than Morning Madness, it seemed a bit smoother, richer.

Love the packaging as well.

talenti's gelato

Social media is great, not only to "socialize", but to also find out what's trending...like Talenti's Gelato.

You wouldn't believe how many of my friends on Twitter and FB were talking about this stuff.

So, when I saw it on-sale at Safeway, I convinced my mom "we should try it".

3 pints (Caramel Cookie Crunch, Double Dark Chocolate and Tahitian Vanilla Bean), in 3 days.

Delish! And, it is Made in the USA...whoo!

If you've been an avid reader, you'll know I'm always on the lookout for new chocolates to try.

Recently, these caught my eye.

Wild Ophelia is actually a collection made by the creator of Vosges chocolates.

Their 44% milk chocolate with beef jerky actually reminded me of the Vosges' Mo's Bacon Bar, except with a more distinct beef jerky aroma.

And the 62% dark chocolate with ancho, chipotle, cayenne & cinnamon in it reminded me of the Vosges' Red Fire Bar.

Even though they don't seem as pricey as the Vosges bars, they are smaller in size.

I found these at Price Busters and hope they bring more flavors in.

Even though this post is dated the 4th, it'll be the 4th for us in Hawaii, tomorrow.

I recently tried this ginger ale made by Boylan Bottling Company, in New Jersey.

They use cane sugar, and if I remember correctly, no preservatives.

We liked this, nice kick from the ginger. And lots of fizz.

A great food find at Kaldi Coffee recently...natural peanut butter.

Peanuts and sea salt...that's it.

Be sure to mix it well as there is oil from the peanuts on the top.

Even after mixing, this was a little more liquidy than I am used to, but delicious all the same.

Also, it isn't creamy, it is crunchy. The bits aren't all uniform in size which makes it more unique.

It's made in the U.S.A., maybe not a good carbon footprint, but it is as natural as you can get with peanut butter.
