Two Sundays ago, we had the krazy idea to go to Yokohama.

If there were tickets available for the Hanshin Tigers vs Yokohama Baystars, we were gonna watch the game.

To kill some time, we’d look for the remaining Pokemon manhole covers in the area

When we got to Sakuragi-cho, the first thing we did was eat lunch.

Satoshi wanted to eat at this stand and eat shop, Kawamuraya

This shop has been in business since 1900 and was on the verge of closing in 2021.

The daughter of the owner trained to take over and luckily they are still around.

I ordered the HOT tori (chicken) soba...440 yen (tax included)

Bummed I didn't see the "cold" button (plus 70 yen) on the ticket machine until after I ordered and was already eating.

Satoshi had the ika ten soba...520 yen (tax included)

It was so blazing that eating something hot was krazy!

What is even more krazy is that if you want to actually stand and eat, they have tables outside for you...get one guy! out there!

Then while I went to look for the manhole covers, Satoshi went to check out different areas for future tours

Then we decided to head indoors to refuel because the heat and humidity was killer...the person making the drinks made a mistake and put our drinks into these paper cups, which are used for hot drinks.

Satoshi usually drinks hot coffee, but he ordered an iced caramel latte and I ordered an espresso tonic.

He enjoyed the hot egg sandwich.

the carrot cake was dry, bummer.

Back out to look for Pokemon...
The last time we were in the area, the warehouses were under renovation, now there are many eateries and shops inside.
We went into the Customs Museum
Past the Kanagawa Prefectural Office
Past the Yokohama Information Cultural Center
And into the Port Opening Memorial Hall
We also checked out The Bays and it was about this time that I saw a man fall backwards (like a scuba diver, going into the water from the edge of an boat), after he sat on a bench.

I pointed him out to Satoshi and Satoshi rushed to help him up, luckily he was not injured and his wife was also nearby

We found a spot called the Dream Gate where you can take a photo of the Yokohama Stadium field, if you are lucky you'll be able to see the players warming up
can you tell it was blazing?!
We lined up to buy tickets that were available for the day, but it was almost an hour wait for the ticket office to open PLUS another 3 hours before the game would begin, so we gave up and decided to go home because it was just.too.hot!

It's a good thing we came home, I think we both were on the verge of getting heatstroke.

Even if it was krazy hot and humid, we were happy to be able to check out many areas.
