service dogs
My understanding is that if your dog is a "service dog" you can bring it into stores, restaurants...
Most times, I saw dogs with "service dog" vests on.
Other times, like this in stores...the owners just bring them in without the vests, just to walk around, I guess it is good that they are on leashes, but still.

Yes people are just bringing in pets. Some pretend that they are support animals such as emotional support dogs. It is not recognized by the ADA, only service dogs which are certified and trained. Here is a link I just read. -N https://who13.com/news/all-dogs-go-to-heaven-but-only-service-dogs-protected-by-ada-law/
Another thing it's up to the store or business to prohibit any pet, except by law they cannot prohibit service dogs. Many stores here have a liberal pet policy I think I've only seen the prohibition at supermarkets. A couple of restaurants around town are allowing dogs in certain areas. Many business policies evolve as Society allows pets in other places. -N
What we see described here these days are "emotional support dogs".....I mean, we would have loved to have brought Sammy and Frankie everywhere, but still....
i've seen security addressing people with PETS walking into stores saying no animals allowed but the customer comes right back and says they are service dogs. B!S! I guess security is not allowed to go further because they just let them in. They have the right to ask what service does this animal provide and emotional support is not a recognized service. It bothers me a lot to see dogs in supermarkets and food areas. And I love dogs! v

To me, rules are rules. When I see people in the store with their not-service-dog pets, I have to refrain myself from giving them the stink eye.
